Rankings

U.S. News & World Report rankings have spawned a number of alternative ranking systems, such as the Washington Monthly College Rankings, that examine the degree to which colleges and universities benefit the nation through the education they provide. Using yardsticks of social mobility, research and public service, Washington Monthly put UC Berkeley in second place, behind MIT, commenting: "UC schools continue to rule...By our yardstick, University of California, Berkeley, is about the best thing for America we can find. It's good by all of our measurements."

Annual gifts provide the Dean with critical funding for core programs.

Educating Global Technology Leaders

  • Scholarships and fellowships to keep education accessible
  • Program funds for educational offerings found only at Berkeley Engineering, such as Technology & Leadership Studies

Engineering Sustainable Energy Solutions
Engineering Better Health
Engineering a Better World

Gifts designated for these strategic imperatives will help to foster innovation and amplify its impact on pressing global challenges.

  • Endowed chairs to attract and retain top faculty
  • Named centers and directorships
  • Research support
  • Facilities improvements

Other Opportunities
Berkeley Engineering alumni and friends can also contribute to objectives in our seven academic departments and elsewhere in the College.

Investments to support these priorities may be made through cash gifts, gifts of securities or property, life income plans and other means. For more information about how you can support the College of Engineering, please call the College Relations Office at (510) 642-2487.
