Below are the first 17 deans to shape the College of Engineering. The present College evolved from Berkeley's early technical colleges; the Colleges of Mechanics and Civil Engineering amalgamated to form the College of Engineering in 1931 and were joined by the College of Mining in 1942.

Frank Holman Probert

Samuel Benedict Christy

Frank Soule
