BEAR News November 2010October 2010 Dear Berkeley Engineer: Last Tuesday, November 16, the College of Engineering, in conjunction with the Kauffman Foundation, http://www.kauffman.org/, hosted its third annual Global Technology Leaders conference, "Energy Innovation for a Greener Economy." Our speakers and panelists -- all of them leading technologists, investors and policymakers in the field -- revealed an energy future that is both economically and environmentally sustainable, as well as the emerging technologies that will create this future. More than 200 alumni, friends, students and faculty of the College were in attendance. View the full conference video here: http://cet.berkeley.edu/gtl-conference. Do you want to lead teams using both managerial and technical strengths? Are you a "doer" willing to take on major technological challenges and create solutions? Then the new Berkeley Engineering Professional Master's Program (http://www.funginstitute.berkeley.edu/degrees.html) could be right for you. Opening fall 2011, this new master's program provides students with strong technical depth in a chosen engineering discipline integrated with leadership and management principles and core business concepts. Students in this one-year, full-time program earn the master of engineering (M.Eng.) degree after completing a minimum of 24 units of coursework. Upon graduation, they are ready for career paths that lead to management and executive positions in companies and organizations as well as entrepreneurial ventures. If you are interested in learning more about the new Berkeley Engineering Professional Master's Program join us for an information session on Tuesday, November 30, from 5-6pm or Wednesday, December 1, from 12-1pm on the UC Berkeley campus. To register for an information session or for more information about the program email: bears@berkeley.edu. We want you (and your picture)!
