"Success doesn't come to you...you go to it." ~Marva Collins

Marie A. Mayne is the Director of the Charles Tunstall Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) in the College of Engineering Center for Underrepresented Engineeering Students (CUES). She was a first generation college student. Marie previously served as the Assistant Director of the Julia Morgan Engineering Program (JMEP) and of the Summer Undergraduate Program in Engineering Research at Berkeley (SUPERB). In this capacity, she strategically matched students with research experiences in order to spark their interest in graduate school. Marie has over fourteen years experience in the College of Engineering working with diverse groups of all ages. Marie has also held positions with Berkeley's bioengineering program/interdisciplinary studies, Touro University and California State University Maritime.

"Our program takes pride in student excellence which is defined by the level of student achievement and the measure of student learning. As promising scholars join our program, we are ready to take MEP to the next level," comments Marie.

Student services are Marie's passion and she loves to "help students empower themselves by taking advantage of all that higher education has to offer with the assistance of support programs."

Marie has been married over 25 years and has a daughter in college and a son in high school.
