Technology & Leadership Studies230 Bechtel Engineering Center, 510-642-8790
Technology and Leadership Studies (TLS) is a new program that seeks to develop leaders who will create and drive the solutions to today’s most pressing problems. The TLS program will provide undergraduate, graduate, and executive education courses in technology management, innovation, and entrepreneurship while supporting a federation of cross-campus centers and programs; recognizing individual achievements in leadership; and building strategic global partnerships. As part of its mission, Technology and Leadership Studies will host the newly named A. Richard Newton Global Technology Leaders Lecture Series and Conference sponsored by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to advancing entrepreneurship and improving education. Additionally, TLS along with the Dado and Maria Banatao GLOBE Center, will build a series of global partnerships, initially with China, Finland, and India. Technology and Leadership Studies is administered by the College of Engineering and will provide an administrative home to the Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (CET) and the Management of Technology (MOT) Program, which is a joint program with the Haas School of Business. TLS will also reach across campus with collaborative ties to the School of Information, as well as to U.C. Berkeley programs and centers, such as the Blum Center for Developing Economies; the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation; the Big Ideas @ Berkeley Initiative; the Services: Science, Management & Engineering collaboration; Chemical Engineering’s Product Development Program; and to the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS). |
