New student affairs dean
In June, former MSE chair Fiona Doyle was named assistant dean of student affairs, following in the footsteps of Dave Auslander. The assistant dean, a five-year position, is responsible for running the College’s student affairs office, which provides student advisors and runs events such as the new student orientation and Commencement. Doyle will also serve as acting dean when Dean Newton is unavailable and will teach fewer classes to accommodate her new responsibilities in the Dean’s Office. Robert Ritchie replaced Doyle as chair of the MSE department.
