Come learn from an analog design expert! On Monday, September 12, alumnus
George Chien (M.S.’96, Ph.D.’00 EECS) will
deliver a talk as part of the Integrated Circuits Speaker Series. Chien
is an analog design manager at Marvell and one of the
company’s key engineers. He will speak from 4 to 5 p.m. in Wozniak
Lounge, fourth floor, Soda Hall. Refreshments served afterward.
Learn about the Engineering Library
Located on the first floor of Bechtel Engineering Center, Kresge Engineering
Library offers a wide range of resources essential to your coursework
and research. Attend a library research clinic to learn more. “Finding
Journal Articles Online” is held Wednesday, September 7, at 2

U.S. News undergraduate rankings
In its annual undergraduate rankings, U.S. News & World Report moved
Berkeley Engineering up from third place to tie with Stanford for second.
MIT took the top slot. All Berkeley’s departments except one were
ranked top five in the nation.

Civil Engineering = 2.
Computer Science/Engineering = 3.
Electrical Engineering = 3.
Engineering Physics = 2.
Environmental Engineering = 4.
Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering = 4.
Materials Science/ Metallurgy = 3.
Mechanical Engineering = 3.
Nuclear Engineering (last ranked in 2004) = 4.
