What inspired you to go into engineering?

Franklin Lee, CEE junior

My dad was a civil engineer. I tagged along with him on weekends and liked how you could use math to build such big structures.

Matt Darrow, ME junior

Back in second grade, I wanted to design roller coasters. I’ve always been interested in the physics and the mechanics of them, which steered me into ME.

Molly Seto, CEE grad student

I liked science, but I didn’t like the lab part of it so I wanted something applied.

Artemio Navarro, ME senior

A high school counselor encouraged me to do a summer internship with an aerospace firm in L.A. I worked on small projects, and it got me interested in engineering.
