Sign up now for
fall poster session
Are you an undergraduate researcher? Sign up now for the Fall 2005 Engineering,
Science, and Natural Resources Fall 2005 Joint Poster Session, Wednesday,
November 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participation is simple: You will
be provided a poster board to create your poster and, on the day of
the session, you’ll stand by your poster to answer questions about
your research. Last day to sign up is October 31. Find more information

Digital sound and sculpture
On Wednesday, November 2, the Art, Technology, and Culture Colloquium
of Berkeley’s Center for New Media presents “Digital Sound
as Sculpture Material,” a lecture by Tom Marioni. Marioni is a
sculptor and conceptual artist in San Francisco. The event is from 7:30-9

Cisco VP to share telecom insights
On Wednesday, November 2, the Management of Technology Program presents
“Opportunities in Telecom,” a lecture by Don Proctor, senior
vice president of Cisco Systems. Proctor leads the Voice over IP Business
Unit and will discuss how Cisco is capitalizing on its position in the
market and new opportunities ahead. The event is from 4-6 p.m. in the
Wells Fargo Room at the Haas School of Business. For more information,

She’s a Genius Corner winner!
Last week’s brainteaser answer is: Fill the three-liter jug and
pour it into the five-liter jug. Fill the three-liter jug again, and add
the water to the same five-liter jug, filling it to the top. What’s
left in the three-liter jug is one liter of water. Alumna Anna
Liao (EECS’03) got it right first. Stay tuned for next
