What are the characteristics of a great professor?

Vince Law, ME/MSE junior

Approachability and an understanding of the pace of student learning. We may not be able to absorb the material as fast as they assume.

Charlotte Daniels, ME sophomore

For me, it’s showing enthusiasm for the material and providing real-world applications.

Mark Chan, ME/MSE junior

A great professor is dynamic. He or she shows real emotion and doesn’t lecture in a monotone.

Daniel Yoo, BioE freshman

Someone who teaches without being boring and who keeps me awake by providing examples and doing demonstrations.
