CITRIS Research Exchange
On Wednesday, November 1, the Center for Information Technology Research
in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) presents “University of
California Web-based Instruction for Science and Engineering,” a
talk by EECS senior lecturer Michael Clancy. The lecture will take
place at 12 p.m. in 290 Hearst Memorial Mining Building.
Extraterrestrial aesthetics
The Art, Technology and Culture Colloquium presents “Extraterrestrial
Aesthetics, Divine Genetics, and Other Thought Experiments,” a
lecture by San Francisco-based, conceptual artist Jonathon Keats.
Keats is known for attempting to genetically engineer God in a laboratory,
a 2004 collaboration with Berkeley geneticists. The lecture will
take place on Monday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m. in 105 Northgate Hall.

Write a winning essay or submit a musical score! Cash awards are
offered in a variety of fields. Prize amounts vary from $200 to
$5,000. All competitions are open to students of any major. The
deadline for entries is Friday, January 26, 2007. For more information
