CITRIS Research Exchange

On Wednesday, September 27, the CITRIS Research Exchange will present “Enabling Scientific Workflows in Virtual Reality,” a lecture by Oliver Staadt and Oliver Kreylos of UC Davis. The event will take place at 12 p.m. in 290 Hearst Memorial Mining Building. Free lunch provided! For more information, go to www.citris-uc.org.

Volunteer!

Healthy Start seeks volunteers to assist K-6 students at Washington Elementary School. Healthy Start is a Cal Corps organization whose mission to help local students achieve a better education. Volunteers serve as a teacher’s assistant in the classroom or as a tutor/mentor after school. Time commitment is at least one hour per week, and units can be earned. Washington Elementary is within walking distance from Cal, and all majors and years are encouraged to apply. For applications and questions, contact Claudia at cdiera@berkeley.edu.

EECS Career Fair

The EECS Career Fair will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2 to 6 p.m. in Pauley Ballroom, MLK Student Union. Employers will discuss full-time and internship opportunities for EECS students. Bring your student ID and resume. A list of companies attending is available at http://career.berkeley.edu/.

Overseas fellowship program

Bridging the Divide is a fully funded fellowship program that supports graduate student teams doing overseas, field-based research into technologies that encourage progress in less developed countries. Bridging the Divide is sponsored by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Berkeley’s Management of Technology program.
