E 190 placement test

If you plan to take E 190, you must take the Engineering 190 Placement Test before enrolling. The next test will be Tuesday, October 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Sibley Auditor-ium, Bechtel Engineering Center. If you want to enroll in E 190 in spring 2007, you must take the test on October 10; there are no other test dates this semester. You do not need to sign up; just arrive promptly with a pencil or pen and your student ID. More information about E 190 and the placement test can be found at http://coe.berkeley.edu/ids/techcomm.

Kresge Library is encouraging engineering students to take the online science quiz offered through its subscription to Knovel Library, a research tool. Technology Breakthrough Competition

Are you working on technology or scientific research that aims to make the world a substantially better place? Is it something that may have commercial potential? If so, enter the UC Berkeley Technology Breakthrough Competition. Winners receive $25,000 in cash prizes and a chance to make industry connections. The deadline to apply is October 20. Mayfield Fellows info meeting

The UC Berkeley Mayfield Fellows Program offers graduate students paid summer internships at venture capital-funded high-tech startups in Silicon Valley. To learn more, attend an informational meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 9, in Wozniak Lounge, or at 6 p.m on Tuesday, October 10, in the Wells Fargo Room, C420 Cheit, Haas School of Business.
