and Announcements Spend an evening with industry
You’re invited to “An Evening with Industry,” a
career event where attendees mingle with industry professionals over
an elegant three-course dinner, presented by the Society of Women
Engineers. Learn more about your favorite companies, build connections
with mentors and apply for available positions! The event will take
place on Thursday, November 9, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Hs. Lordship

Bacteria saving the world
On Wednesday, November 8, the Center for Information Technology Research
in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) presents “In Situ Bioremediation:
Bacteria Saving the World by Eating Much of Our Junk,” a
talk by CEE professor Lisa Alvarez-Cohen. The lecture will take
place at 12 p.m. in 290 Hearst Memorial Mining Building.

MIT infosession Friday, November 3
Do you like living the student dream? Are you thinking about grad
school? Are you sort of smart? Then join Cal alum and MIT graduate
student Misha Leybovich (B.S.’05 Eng. Physics and ASUC president

food!) and chat about the MIT Technology and Policy Graduate Program,
