Sustainable energy lecture

The NE department presents “Searching for a Sustainable Energy Future,” a lecture by Patrick Moore, chair and chief scientist at Greenspirit Strategies, Ltd. Moore has been a leader in the international environmental field for over 30 years. He is a cofounder of Greenpeace and served for nine years as president of Greenpeace Canada and seven years as a director of Greenpeace International. The event will take place at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 11, in Sibley Auditorium, Bechtel Engineering Center.

Attention graduate entrepreneurs!

The Haas School of Business’s New Venture Fellows program is offering a “pitch lab” for graduate engineering students who are working on business plans. The lab offers students a neutral environment in which to practice their business plan presentations and receive objective feedback in a no-risk setting. The lab is run by first- and second-year MBA students with backgrounds in venture capital and entrepreneurship. E-mail keith_eadie@haas.berkeley.edu for info.

Attend the taping of a PBS television show featuring the CEOs of Intel and Symantec on Thursday, November 30, at 6:30 p.m. in Zellerbach Hall! The show, called the CEO Exchange, is part of a series moderated by CNN’s Jeff Greenfield. Cool calendar

The Water Resources Center Archives and the Harmer E. Davis Transportation Library present their new wall calendar, “Mountains to Mouths: Development of the San Francisco Bay Area’s Water Supply,” which features 12 historic photos.
