Why did you become an engineer?

Anne Sophie Ducottet,
IEOR grad student

I became an engineer because I was interested in science, and my dad was an engineer. Also, when I played with toys as little kid I was always trying to invent things.

David Tran,
BioE grad student

Part of my reason for becoming a bioengineer was that I wanted to modify evolution so I could eradicate some disease. I want my work to help mankind.

Allison Medellin,
BioE grad student

I liked science and math in high school and did a career choice test that recommended I become an engineer. When I got to college I realized that BioE was my interest.

Sung Hoon Lee,
ME grad student

In life, few things are clear, but engineering gives clear answers to some of life’s problems.
