GIVE AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE

Reap the rewards of giving back to the 2004 Senior Gift Campaign

There are many different reasons to give to the Senior Gift Campaign. Some gifts come from the heart, others from pragmatism, and yet others from a competitive spirit. No matter what the motivation, there are many rewards of giving.

The College has several ways of thanking student donors for their generosity. All donors are invitated to a reception at the Chancellor’s home in May and their names are published in a donor honor roll that will appear in the commencement program and online. Also, donors who give $20 or more will receive a Berkeley Engineering license plate frame.

There are more compelling reasons to give. By investing in Berkeley’s future, you ensure that your degree maintains its value. Berkeley Engineering needs private contributions to stay competitive and fund student programs. Your support will help future generations of students get the same quality of education that you received.

Investing in your alma mater helps you stay connected to your colleagues and transition into the Berkeley Engineering alumni community.

Your class can give the biggest gift to date thanks to alum Bob Sanderson’s (IEOR ’66, ’70) gift matching challenge. With a 35 percent participation rate, the class of 2004 could raise $5,000, which will become $15,000 with matching dollars.

Another reward of giving comes from pride and the spirit of competition. Your participation can help your major win the participation contest among departments. You could also help your class set a gift dollar record and Berkeley catch up with the 90 percent participation rate at other engineering schools.
