What modern nerd gadget has replaced the pocket protector?

Heather Chiamori,
ME senior

It’s definitely the TI189 calculator. It’s top of the line, very powerful, and can do all kinds of functions. It seems like every engineer has one.

Adrian Hernandez,
ME junior

How about camera phones? Do you really need to have the ability to take low resolution pictures on your cell phone? What’s next? Cell phones with Microsoft Word and Excel? I think a cell phone should be just that.

Jonathan Villalobos,
BioE senior

What’s nerdy is not the PDA itself, everyone has one now, but the protective sleeve for the PDA with all its different slots for memory cards.

Matt Stracker,
ME senior

The neck strap for the USB memory stick. The memory stick is a replacement for a floppy disc, so it’s portable memory. The device isn’t nerdy but the neck strap is.
