Events and Announcements

Commencement information
Commencement, a traditional all-College ceremony, is scheduled for Saturday, May 21, 2005, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Hearst Greek Theatre. To register or for more information, go to http://www.coe.berkeley.edu/commencement/. Deadline to register is March 15. For additional questions, call Shelley Goodale at 643-1743.

Tell the College what you think
Do you want the College to hear your opinions on how to improve your education? Serve as a student member on one of the faculty committees which set policies and plans programs. Committee members must agree to the publication of their names and e-mail addresses and to hold office hours on an ad-hoc basis. More information and applications are available at www.coe.berkeley.edu/current_students/committee. Applications must be submitted to Bren Ahearn, bahearn@coe.berkeley.edu, by Friday, March 18.

Vote: Your health depends on it
Starting next year, Berkeley students will pay more for on-campus health care. UC Berkeley's "Safeguard Student Health Care" referendum gives you a say in how you'll pay. A YES vote creates a new fee of $43 per semester to protect and improve our student health services. A NO vote means higher out-of-pocket costs. Financial aid helps offset the fee for the neediest students. Vote online March 8 to 10, via BearFacts. It's Your Health. You Decide. For more information, go to http://safeguardhealth.berkeley.edu.

He's a Genius Corner winner!
The answer to last week's brainteaser is: 1) motherboard (mother bored); 2) Excel (XL); and 3) Intel (in Tel).
EECS sophomore Yi "Domingus" Ding got it right first. Stay tuned for next week's brainteaser.
