Save the date: Real World Engineering
Join Berkeley Engineering alumni for a glimpse of the practice of engineering
beyond the walls of the classroom on Thursday, February 2, from 4:15 to
7:30 p.m. at Bechtel Engineering Center. Eleven panels will discuss careers
in engineering and how a specific major might translate to a real-world
work environment. After the panel session, enjoy food, drink, and one-on-one
networking with panel participants at the wrap-up reception in Garbarini
Lounge. For more information, go to http://www.coe.berkeley.edu/alumni_friends/realworld/index.html.

managers who do the hiring.

To get the answer to last week’s brainteaser, take any 18 coins. Put
them in their own pile. Flip those 18 coins. Then both piles will have the
same number of heads. EECS graduate student Percy Liang got it right first!
Stay tuned for next week’s brainteaser.
