E 190 placement test
All students planning on taking E 190 are required to take the Engineering
190 Placement Test before enrolling in the course. The next test is scheduled
for Thursday, March 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Sibley Auditorium. Students
planning on taking E 190 in the summer or fall of this year must take the
test on March 23 if they have not already taken it. You do not need to
sign up; just arrive promptly at 5:30 p.m. with a pencil or pen and your
student ID.
BioE research this summer
The Berkeley Summer Bioengineering Research Program provides stipends for
undergraduates to do full-time research with a bioengineering faculty mentor
for 10 weeks over the summer. Learn more about the program and application
process at the information meeting on Thursday, March 16, at 5 p.m. in 458
Evans Hall. Pizza will be served. Apply online at http://bioeng.berkeley.edu/bsbrp/.
Applications for the summer program are due April 4.
Engineering scholarship info
Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California is offering scholarships
to upper division undergraduate students ($1,000 - $7,500) and graduate students
($5,000). For further information, including qualifications and applications,
see Student Affairs Assistant Dean Robert Giomi in 308 McLaughlin Hall. Deadline
is April 28.
Serve on faculty committees
If you want the College to hear your opinions on how to improve your education,
serve as a student member on one of the faculty committees that sets policies
and plans programs. Committee members must agree to the publication of their
names and email addresses and to hold office hours on an ad hoc basis. More
information and applications are available at www.coe.berkeley.edu/current_students/committee/.
Applications must be submitted to Alvin Chang at alvinc@berkeley.edu by Friday,
March 17.
