2007 graduate school rankings
Berkeley Engineering is again one of the top three graduate schools of engineering in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report. The College of Engineering placed third, following Stanford and MIT. Graduate programs by department are ranked as follows: Civil and CS are first, EE and Enviromental Eng. are second, ME, IEOR, and Computer Eng. are third, MSE is sixth, NE is seventh, and BioE is fourtheenth. Career tips from EECS professionals
On Tuesday, April 18, the Student Professional Awareness Conference will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in the HP Auditorium, 306 Soda Hall. Hear distinguished speakers from AMD, Lockheed Martin, Atmel, and nVidia talk about how you can succeed in the professional world. Free dinner and over $600 in raffle prizes. All majors welcome! Engineering Week this week
It’s back! Berkeley engineers are summoned to emerge from labs, dorms, libraries and other all-too-familiar lairs to see friends, eat some ’cue, and have fun. Engineering Week takes place this Tuesday, April 18, through Friday, April 21. BBQs run daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and take place between Bechtel and McLaughlin, along with daily events like ultimate Frisbee and games. There will also be evening events, including broomball, poker (with prizes and gift certificates), and capture the flag. For schedule and details, e-mail mcyong@gmail.com.

Attention graduating seniors
The ME department is requesting nominations for the Serge Granik Memorial Award. The $500 merit award will go to an engineering (any major) and/or computer science graduating senior who has overcome unusual difficulties or adversity to successfully complete the required course of studies.
