Engineering & science poster session
Curious about what undergraduate researchers are doing? Thinking of getting into research yourself? Come by the lobby of Hearst Memorial Mining Building on Wednesday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Spring 2006 Engineering and Science Poster Session. Learn about the research accomplished by undergraduates, have a snack and chat with faculty. This year’s theme is “Defining the Future through Today’s Research.”

Attention graduating seniors
Congratulations on graduating from Berkeley Engineering! We’d like to toast your success and welcome you to the alumni community. Come to the champagne reception in your honor Tuesday, May 9, at 5 p.m. in the lobby of Hearst Memorial Mining Building. We’ll have champagne, refreshments and a special graduation gift for you. To confirm, email Dawn at eas@coe.berkeley.edu on or before Thursday, May 4.

Be a marshal at Commencement!
All non-graduating engineering students are invited to participate in the 2006 College of Engineering Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 20. Share in the fun and excitement by being a marshal! Contact Jennifer at 642-2257 or jennifers@berkeley.edu before May 1. An orientation for volunteers will be held in May (details TBA).

Genius Corner winners
The answer to last week’s brainteaser is five. No one submitted the right answer. The winner of the twice-a-semester Genius Corner drawing is CEE senior Sara Garrett, whose name was randomly drawn from all the brainteaser winners since Issue 8. Garrett wins two movie tickets courtesy of Engineering Alumni Relations! Finally, the winner of the participants’ drawing, whose name was randomly drawn from all those who submitted answers this semester, is ME junior Stephanie Uhlich! Uhlich wins a Berkeley Engineering T-shirt and mug.
