What’s your reaction to graduating? What will you remember most about Berkeley?

Melody Hsu, EECS
Hometown: San Jose
Plans: Working
I’m both sad and excited. I’ll miss all the Phi Sigma Pi (national co-ed honor fraternity) activities. I learned to bond with others and be a leader.

Henry Lopez, ME
Hometown: Long Beach
Plans: Hopes to work at Boeing
I’m not sure what to feel; it’s so new. There are too many great memories from here. I recently found an error in some research I was working on. That was awesome..

Catherine Harrison, EECS
Hometown: Santa Cruz
Plans: Working for a special effects company
I’m excited. I’ve really enjoyed doing all the class projects. My favorite was making a 3-D animation cartoon-like.

Anuj Patel, BioE
Hometown: Corona
Plans: Grad school in the Berkeley/UCSF BioE program
It’s almost here, and I’m excited. I’ve worked hard for it. I’ve had a lot of fun times with my friends; meeting them has been one of the best things about Berkeley.

Chenyun Wang, CEE
Hometown: Ningbo, China
Plans: City of San Francisco internship in transportation
I’m finally finished, and I’m pretty excited.

Jason Zhang, CEE
Hometown: Shanghai
Plans: Grad school at Stanford
I’m excited to be done. My most unforgettable memory was being in the dorms my first year. I didn’t know how to speak English so I went wherever my friends went. It was hard but unforgettable.

Nathan Langdon, CEE
Hometown: Crest Lake
Plans: Working in London at a structural engineering firm
I haven’t had time to think about graduation too much. I’ll mostly remember the CE picnics and Steel Bridge competitions. I had a good time.

Joey McCue, CEE
Hometown: Visalia
Plans: Working
It’s scary. I don’t want to grow up. At first I wasn’t sure about Berkeley, but over time, I grew to like it.

Jon Thysell, IEOR
Hometown: Windsor
Plans: Peace Corps
Wait, I’m graduating? My most memorable moment is working 39 straight hours in the Etcheverry basement. Underhurdling!

Jui-Shan Grace Hsu, ME/MSE
Hometown: Arcadia
Plans: Coming right back to Etcheverry for ME grad school
My favorite moment will hopefully be tomorrow when I turn in my ME 107B report that encapsulates my engineering education in 20 or so pages.

Deep Ganguli, EECS
Hometown: Thousand Oaks
Plans: Grad school at NYU
It’s bittersweet because I’m leaving engineering for neuroscience. I’ll miss working on projects in groups and hanging out in the city. It doesn’t get any better than San Francisco.

Tiffany Chan, IEOR
Hometown: Hong Kong
Plans: Look for a job
I’m excited even though I’m not sure what I’m doing after graduation. My favorite memories are at the computer, working on projects with my classmates and friends. It didn’t feel good then, but it has been a really good experience.
