| DONATE NOW: The Senior Gift Campaign raises funds for future students.
|
Senior Gift Campaign is off and running! Have you donated, yet?
Seniors: Graduation is just three months away, and
whether you’re excited or sad to leave, it’s time to get
nostalgic about your time here. Think of the friends you’ve made,
the activities you’ve done, the classes and professors you’ve
enjoyed. Honor those memories by giving back to Berkeley Engineering
through the Senior Class Gift Campaign.
With a gift of $25 or more, students receive a Berkeley Engineering
license plate frame. (You can’t buy it anywhere else!) With a
donation of any amount, seniors receive a decal. Donor names will be
published on the College website’s donor honor roll and in the
College’s Commencement program and Annual Report, and donors
will receive an invitation to hobnob with Chancellor Birgeneau at his
home in May.
“Berkeley Engineering — all facets of it from the active student
groups to its vast opportunities, resources and innovative, inspiring research — has
profoundly impacted my education and experience at Cal,” says
engineering physics senior and EJC president Michelle Yong. “Giving
back is a way to show my appreciation to the College and future students.”
Where does your money go? The College directs it to the Berkeley Engineering
Annual Fund, where it will be used to support a variety of programs
and services such as engineering student societies, the Undergraduate
Research Opportunities Program, the Center for Entrepreneurship and
Technology and student-directed projects (Concrete Canoe, CalSol, etc.),
to name a few.
This year’s goal is to raise at least $10,000 from 50 percent
of the class. The Class of 2006 raised a record $8,733 with 43 percent
participation, but you’re way better than last year’s class,
right? If our goal is met, alum Bob Sanderson (M.S.’66 Ph.D.’70
IEOR) will make a matching gift to double the class total, up to $15,000.
