and Announcements E 190 placement test
If you plan to take E 190, you need to take the Engineering 190
Placement Test before enrolling. The test is scheduled for Wednesday,
March 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Sibley Auditorium, Bechtel Engineering
Center. If you want to take E 190 in the summer or fall, you must
take the test on March 7 if you have not previously taken it. There
will not be another test scheduled until August. No need to register
for the test. Arrive promptly at 5 p.m. with a pencil or pen and
your student ID.
Win an iPod
The Kresge Engineering Library is encouraging engineering students to
take the Knovel University Challenge. This contest is open to Cal engineering
and science students. Entrants use the Knovel Library online research
tool to find the answers to five quiz questions. Prizes this semester
include a $1,500 scholarship and iPod shuffles. A Berkeley engineering
student won an iPod shuffle in last semester’s contest! The
contest runs through April 5. To participate, go to www.info.knovel.com/challenge.

CITRIS Research Exchange
On Wednesday, March 7, the CITRIS Research Exchange will present “Using
Mathematical Models to Help Understand Planar Cell Polarity in Developmental
Biology,” a lecture by EECS associate professor Claire Tomlin.
The event will take place at 12 p.m. in 290 Hearst Memorial Mining Building.
