Which engineering major is the hardest? Which is the easiest?

Silvia Ngo, ME junior
I think the hardest is chemical engineering because it takes them five years to graduate, while it takes the rest of us four. Also I am bad at chem so I have respect for those that are good at it. I think the easiest major is IEOR because it has more business in it than the rest of us are required to take.

Eddie Wang, BioE sophomore
I heard that IEOR is the easiest because they learn the business of engineering. The hardest is EECS because it is two majors in one. Also there are so many people in it that it’s really competitive.

Maryam Vareth, EECS junior

The hardest is BioE because they have to take science classes in addition to physics and math. And I don’t think there are any easy majors, they are all hard .

Jared King, EECS sophomore
EECS is my major and I find it easy, but some people find it hard. I guess it depends on the person. I think ME is the hardest because I see my ME friends working all the time. .
