Vice President of Research and Special Initiatives at Google speaks on "Innovation at Google"
This presentation is about innovation at Google from multiple
perspectives: From the scientific bases of Google's cloud-oriented
computing model to the architecture of Google's software, technology is
an important catalyst in Google's ability to rapidly generate ideas and
then turn them into valuable products. But also, a culture of employee
empowerment and respect for the talent of the broad organization is
equally important. In fact, Google's technology focus and its
organizational approaches often merge through the internal application
of web-centric technologies that allow the best possible communication,
measurement, and informed decision making. From his vantage point as
Vice President of Research and Special Initiatives, Dr. Spector will
describe these and other approaches to innovation at Google.
Dr. Spector is Vice President of Research and Special Initiatives
at Google -- his responsibilities typically include projects with high
strategic value to the company, but somewhat outside the mainstream of
current products, such as Google Health.
