In May, CEE professor Robert Bea was honored with a Chancellor’s Award for Public Service in 2006 – 2007. The award is presented to individuals whose dedication and service makes a difference in communities locally and worldwide. Bea was chosen for his research to understand and communicate the reasons for the failure of the flood protection system in the greater New Orleans area during Hurricane Katrina.
