BioE alum Denis Lam (B.S.’07 BioE) is leading the charge to address the high incidence of chronic hepatitis B among Asians and Pacific Islanders through a campaign called “Cal Hep B Free.” Hepatitis B (HBV) is the leading cause of liver cancer and is often transmitted at birth. Even if you feel healthy, you may be at risk. There are often no symptoms, so get yourself tested! The Tang Center is currently offering free screenings.
