Berkeley Engineering undergrad program ranks no. 2

U.S. News & World Report again ranked UC Berkeley College of Engineering’s overall undergraduate program in second place, tied with Stanford and following number one–ranked MIT. Released in August, this year’s report ranks 10 of Berkeley Engineering’s undergraduate programs number five or above. Berkeley’s Department of Mechanical Engineering was ranked number one for faculty productivity in a new annual index evaluating graduate programs in 104 fields nationwide. Produced by Academic Analytics, the Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index examines 7,300 doctoral programs and has been praised for objectively measuring productivity by faculty publications, citations and number of awards and grants received rather than by reputation.
