Innovators unite!

Lau (B.A.’81 Applied Math, CS), cofounder, executive vice president and chief strategy officer for Network Appliance, Inc.; Rula A. Deeb (M.S.’94, Ph.D.’99 CEE), senior associate at Malcolm Pirnie, Inc.; and Peter Norvig (Ph.D.’86 CS), director of research for Google. Lau and Norvig were recognized for lifetime achievement and Deeb as outstanding young leader. The awards, previously known as the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards, or DEAA, recognize outstanding achievements by alumni in engineering and technology.
