2006-2007
10/26/2006
- Officers approved the Room Reservation Policy for 101 Bechtel.
- Community College Day, Friday, 10/27
- ES Infosession from 2-2:30
- Mike + Aaron tabling 11:30-2
- Engineering Science Committee issues raised:
- Easy access to computing resources at DECF (have EngSci automatically added into the list, currently we have to talk to someone and get permission)
- Common First Year Curriculum (CFYC) requires E92 for EU.
- Lounge space, but there might not be any progress on this. Share space with AS&T?
- LBL Tour, no replies from people. Would like to organize 11/17
- Officer Elections + Poker Night, 11/16
- Available positions: President, Secretary, Tresurer, EJC Rep, Webmaster, Historian, Facilities Comm, Publications (first five are the core/most important).
- Our Resume book (merging with Epsilon Pi's)
- Mark Llorente in charge for EP.
- Organize a day to have a resume workshop with Attwood
10/19/2006
- Pizza with Professors went well this time (first time we opened up 120C)! Things to improve for next time
- Print less flyers, we have over 200 left over...printing 150 will probably be enough.
- Invite more peer advisors, and make sure they are known to students who come (maybe with name tags?), think about this more later.
- Try to encourage more faculty attendance. Some faculty suggested moving PwP to a morning or lunch time (as Mike pointed out, morning won't work because no one will get up, and lunch might be better but we can only have it during a window, and will students be able to make a shorter time?)
- Poker Night, Vincee's event. Tentatively Th, 11/16/06 from 5:30/6 to 9?
- $3 entry fee (2 to pot, 1 to SES)
- We'll also hold officer elections then, probably before the event. We need to advertise for this.
- Engineering Science Committee meeting next Tu 10/24. Please come even if you're not on the committee, this will help voice our opinions.
- E-day, next Friday, 10/27. 12-1, Lunch will be provided if you can come help. Aaron is coming! Any others?
- We have a non profit bank account! Some notes about it:
- Don't let the balance go under $100.
- We don't have to pay interest, and they don't charge anything
- Need two signatures to withdraw money.
- Vincee, make sure you call them to ask about accessing online banking.
- For next year, we should consider EJC Buddy Program.
09/28/2006
- Things that we need to do:
- Update our Vick's copy account (information has changed)
- Create our Wells Fargo bank account
- Figure out where SES mail is going (ask Pat?)
- Look at EJC'c calendar, and add Pizza with Professors to it.
- Pizza with Professors, 5:30 Oct. 12, 120 AB Bechtel
- Pat is helping us out a lot: she's taking care of ordering and financing the pizzas (20 pizzas and we're buying drinks from them. We already have plates and napkins). Pat will make us a flyer so we have to figure out flyering times next week.
- Only 5 professors said that they'd come.
- Ahmad, can you ask for one person from each major to come do peer advising at Pizza with Professors at the next EJC meeting? Mention they'll get pizza.
- Also, for those of you on the Engineering Science Committee, make sure you go to the first meeting
09/21/2006
- EJC Budget updates, look at the file Mike sent to review.
- Pizza with Professors, Thursday, Oct. 12, 5:30 - 7:30 in 120 AB Bechtel. Mike will send an email to faculty and arrange for the pizza, and I sent the email announcement to Pat.
- We hope to open a Wells Fargo Non-profit Checking Account. Vincee and Mike will look into that this week/next week.
- Give Vincee your reciepts for any expenses you front so you can get
- Anyone interested in Facilities Committee? Ask your friends!
08/27/2006
- BBQ rescheduled to 9/15. Mike reserved the Terrace for lunch (11-3). The BBQ will probably be from 12-2.
- Pizza with Professors is Th. Oct. 12.
- My event is probably going to be a movie night on (tentatively) Tu 9/12. I'm going to try to reserve Sibley tomorrow, and also talk with SPS to see if we can jointly do it.
- Vincee's event will be a month long assasin game, where people get killed if they get their picture taken. We'll probably have an entry fee of $1-$2, and we'll need an orientation meeting to let people know about it. We might need a liability waiver to make sure its ok that we take pictures of people.
- We need someone to do Poker Night if they can.
- We're going to have Office Hours W 12:00-1:00 in 101 Bechtel starting next Wed, 9/6.
- Memorize the code to the door!

New arrangement for Pictures
The Pictures tab has been modified for your convenience. Instead of being directed to another website in another window, now you may view thumbnail versions of the actual picture. To access the actual pictures themselves in full-size, click on the pictures and it will lead you to another page with just the picture. Rather than the old, year by year organization through various links, it is now organized by specific events in chronological order with the newest pictures first. Hopefully we'll be able to organize all future photos in similar fashion. Depending on how many photos we upload, we may have to put old photos in the Archives Section that has yet to be made.

====================================
The flyer is saved in the folder: images/Poker Night/POKER NIGHT FLYER.doc
====================================
- The prize was a 300 piece poker set bought at Berkeley Games for $38. If bought online however, we could've purchased a 500 piece set for roughly the same price. The reason that we did not do so was that our account did not allow online purchasing, and shipping fees would've cost about $13.
- We anticipated a minimum of 14 people and a maximum of 19 people; 11 total players actually participated, final table of 4.
- We provided a bag of tostito's chips and a 2 litre bottle of coke. A bottle of chip sausa was never opened.
- We spent $38 on the prize, $3 on the poster, roughtly $3 on food: Total $ Cost: $44
- We spent approximately 2 officer's meetings discussing this event, about 3 man-hours handing out flyers. (note: boards that indicates "student postings" are the only ones we may post on) (also note, 2610 Channing, office building, we may submit a hard-copy of flyers to be approved, and if approved, the office will make copies for us and post the flyers around the dorms for us)
- The RSVP form did not generate any responses, perhaps more incentive to rsvp?
- We generated a total of $50.
- We were going to give the top two players of each table their money back, but due to lack of participants that prize was not given out to maintain breaking-even.
Total Income: $50
Net Profit: $6
- Get flyers at least 3 weeks in advance
- Make prize a gift card to Chipotle or some other place
- Get a stapler for flyers
- Make sure to have Pat forward several emails to all ES people informing them of this Poker Night
- Use facebook Berkeley network to send a flyer
