Officer Elections

Society of Engineering Sciences will be holding officer elections this Thursday, November 16th!

The Society of Engineering Sciences is the primary student group for those in the Engineering-Science disciplines. In addition to hosting social events and fostering a sense of community within Engineering-Science we also represent your interests in the College of Engineering and the University as a whole. Elections will be held at 5pm in 120C Bechtel Engineering Center. If you are interested in running for a position please email your name, major, year, the position(s) you're interested in and a short description of why you want to serve in that position to mike_nip@berkeley.edu. Please send your application before 12pm Wednesday.

Positions:

President

Run our meetings and provide overall direction to the student group. Great networking opportunities.

Secretary

Take Minutes and keep track of our paperwork. Offers a lot of freedom to branch out and try your own projects.

Treasurer

Keep track of our money and manage our bank account.

EJC Council Member

Represent our interests on the Engineer's Joint Council. Excellent networking opportunity if you want to meet people outside of engineering science.

Webmaster

Maintain and expand our website. We're currently moving toward paperless record keeping, so there will be a lot work to do converting our old documents and historical files.

Facilities Manager

Represent SES on the EJC facilities committee as we transform 101 Bechtel into a new office for student groups. A great way to do service for the engineering community and a valuable networking opportunity. Likely service time: 1 semester-1 academic year.

Publications

Get involved in our yearly publication of the Unofficial Guide to Engineering Science a great resource for all incoming freshem and lower division students. Involves compiling student comments on classes and updating relevent information. Possible class wiki is in planning.

Historian

Take pictures and document our events.
