The objective of the Charles Tunstall Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) is to increase the number of underrepresented students who enroll and graduate with bachelors degrees in engineering from Berkeley.

To achieve this objective, the program provides academic counseling, advice on financial support, tutoring and a summer academic program (Pre-Engineering Program, PrEP). MEP is a liaison to the state-wide MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) Community College Programs.

MEP is open to all undergraduate Berkeley engineering students or students interested in obtaining an undergraduate engineering degree.
