The College of Engineering’s mission includes to “educate men and women for careers of leadership and innovation in engineering and related fields.” To support the College’s mission, Engineering Student Services (ESS) is excited to provide high quality leadership and professional development opportunities for Berkeley Engineering undergraduate students.

 

Emerging Engineers Leadership Symposium

 Considering an officer role in your engineering student organization?  Looking for tips and tricks on how to become a more effective leader within your organization or community?  Interested in hearing a keynote speech from someone who was once in a similar situation?  Join campus and community professionals and other Berkley Engineering emerging leaders for the inaugural Emerging Engineers Leadership Symposium (EELS).  Be prepared for breakout sessions to develop you as an aspiring leader and engage with other engineering student organization officers to better prepare you for your future as an emerging leader.   

Catalyst Leadership Program

Have you heard about the transformative six day experience called The LeaderShape Institute? CatalystTM is a one-day program created by LeaderShape, Inc. and is designed to allow participants the time and space to consider powerful questions that move them towards action. Compelling questions like:

  • Am I on the right path?
  • Who do I want to be?
  • How can I connect with other like-minded individuals?

Professional Etiquette Dinner Seminar

 Current upper division engineering students (juniors and seniors) are invited to join etiquette professional, Gina Snyder, as she shares over 10 years of etiquette training experience in The Great Hall of the Faculty Club from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, April 16, 2012.  Business casual attire is suggested. 

A cost of $10 includes a three course dinner (salad, entrée, and dessert, listed at $33) and entry fee.  Please make payment at the front desk of the Engineering Student Services office in Bechtel 230 before the event to receive a ticket.  Vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are available.  Student ID required at the door. 

The LeaderShape Institute

January 13-18, 2013

Named by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation as an “exemplary program,” The LeaderShape© Institute is an intensive, energizing, six-Day educational experience designed to equip college students with the necessary qualifications to become extraordinary leaders. Each session of The LeaderShape© Institute is comprised of approximately 60 students from diverse backgrounds. The Institute’s curriculum is presented by a group of facilitators who are all highly respected in their own professions and serve as excellent role models for the students. After 25 years of the LeaderShape© Institute and 23 years of LeaderShape, Inc., the not-for-profit organization, a total of more than 40,000 students have graduated from a total of more than 800 sessions of the institute.
