UC Berkeley Engineering Faculty Committees
Several College of Engineering faculty committees have student members and want to hear your suggestions on how to improve various aspects of the College of Engineering. Now is your chance to shape College of Engineering policy.
Listed below are the committees that need student members for the 2011-2012 academic year, and their functions.
Engineering Library Committee - 1 student
The charge of the committee is to advise the Dean on policies and procedures to make the library a more effective facility for the support of research and the education of students.

Engineering Science Committee - 2 students
The charge of the committee is to review the various Engineering Science programs and make recommendations to the Dean concerning requirements, courses, etc. for these programs; to coordinate with the Departments of Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics concerning Engineering Science programs; and to advise students concerning programs.

Graduate Study Committee - 1 graduate student
This committee shall review proposed graduate curriculum and curricular changes; review graduate engineering course and modifications in existing courses; and advise the Dean on graduate programs. These changes need to be voted on by faculty in the College of Engineering.

Student Relations Committee - 2 students
This committee cooperates with the Dean of the College of Engineering on student problems and, jointly with the Dean, oversees the welfare of the students in the College of Engineering. This committee plans for commencements and provides a liaison to the Cal Engineer magazine through participation of the editors in the activities of the Student Relations Committee.

Undergraduate Study Committee - 2 students
This committee shall review proposed undergraduate curriculum and curriculum changes for the faculty of the College of Engineering; serve as the final authority on petitions from students for variances in degree requirements within the authority and jurisdiction of the College of Engineering; certify the meeting of undergraduate degree requirements; and review undergraduate engineering courses and modifications in existing undergraduate engineering courses.
