Change of CollegeApplication PeriodsApplications may be submitted once each semester during a designated period:
Late applications will not be accepted. Notification decisions for many students will occur after November 20th (fall applicant) or April 20th (spring applicant). Freshmen applicants (applied during their second semester) will be notified several weeks after the conclusion of the semester in which they applied (approximately June 20th for Spring and January 20th for Fall). Please do not contact the office during the application review period. You will be notified as soon as a decision has been reached. Application CriteriaApplicants will be considered for a Change of College to a major in the College of Engineering if they meet the following requirements:
Admission depends not just on completion of required courses with the minimum GPA, but also on space availability in the major you are applying to in our College. Most programs in the College of Engineering are very impacted and as a result seats in Engineering courses are reserved for students accepted to our College as freshman or transfer applicants. It is difficult for students not in the College of Engineering to get a seat in our courses which makes an application for change of college challenging. To be admitted as a change of college applicant, a student must have completed (at a minimum) the prescribed freshman engineering curriculum. Since availability in these courses for non-Engineering students is very limited, it may not be possible to meet the minimum requirements for consideration. There is a process for applying to change college but given the highly impacted status of majors in the College of Engineering, no guarantee of the possibility that a student could enroll in the courses required to be considered.
